Assisting local governments today while helping them plan for tomorrow is the central goal of the Houston-Galveston Area Council. Fulfilling that mission involves a balanced program of both planning and service to virtually every area of shared concern to local governments, including transportation and air quality, workforce development, economic development, cooperative purchasing, 9-1-1 emergency telephone communications planning, solid waste management planning, geographic information systems and demographic information, and social and nutrition services to senior citizens.
