The Nortex Regional Planning Commission(NRPC) is a voluntary association of local governments committed to regional planning and development programs for the improvement of the health, safety, and general welfare of their citizens. NRPC develops studies and plans to guide the development of the area, to eliminate duplication, and to promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. The activities of the commission include continuing programs in the fields of criminal justice, employment and training, aging, solid waste management, emergency communications, regional services, economic development, review and comment, and community development. The primary role of the commission has been and continues to be providing service and assistance to units of local government.
